Bipolar III

 Shorter and lesser hypomania

 Chronic depression is still the major problem

(ie Double Depression)

 Antidepressant (Lamotrigine?) + Mood Stabilizer

 AD: Bupropion or SSRIs (less switch rates)

 Mood Stabilizers: Divalproex, Topiramate,

Quetiapine, OFC

 Consider “brain stimulation” (TMS, ECT)

 Psycho-education: this patient is bipolar!
